Boys Don't Cry Lyric Poster

This poster was my final project for my Typography class. The assignment was to create a lyric poster based on a randomly assigned song. Luckily, I was assigned Boys Don’t Cry by one of my favorite bands—The Cure. Since The Cure has punk and goth roots, I wanted to take an experimental approach and incorporate hand-done techniques. I created collages and intentionally got them wet to make the ink bleed as an homage to Robert Smith's black eye makeup. I crafted all of the textures by hand using tape, glue, and paper, then scanned and composited them in Photoshop and Illustrator to create the final poster.
